Greg Engrav

Our firm provides a proactive and practical approach for business and international tax issues.    I have managed the Portland market’s international clients for two Big 4 accounting firms, established an internationally focused law firm in Portland, and have served as CFO and CEO of a global telecommunication service and trading company.  My approach with clients to learn as much as possible about their business and supply chain to best serve their specific needs.  By learning what makes each company’s products or services valuable in the market place, the production process and capital requirements, the distribution chain, and sales and marketing strategies, I can focus our services to the client’s specific needs and to recommend strategies that are practical and implementable.

Summary of international tax services:

  • Structure optimal global tax structures
  • Drafting intercompany legal agreements consistent with transfer pricing strategies
  • Develop and implement transfer pricing strategies with economists
  • Perform attorney client privileged tax audits to ensure tax planning strategies are properly implemented
  • Manage international tax reporting and compliance
  • Develop and maintain earning and profits work papers
  • International FIN 48 assistance

Summary of business law services:

  • Contract drafting and negotiation
  • Evaluation and formation of appropriate legal entity structure
  • Shareholder and operating agreements for business owners
  • Purchase and sale of businesses
  • Business succession planning
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) planning

My experience as a senior-level executive with legal, finance, tax, international structuring, risk management, and administrative experience has allowed me to understand what is really important to those we advise.  This background further allows me to understand our clients’ business structures and to evaluate opportunities to creatively plan for legal, finance, tax, and operational savings.

We formed Engrav Law Office on the premise that a smaller firm would be able to work closer with its clients in developing strategies and seeing them through to implementation.  At Engrav Law Office, we can develop personal relationships and an in-depth understanding of our clients’ business by working closely with them to understand the issues and opportunities that are relevant and material to their company.
